TEN-YEAR DEVELOPMENT PLAN

(JANUARY 1, 2021 AD – DECEMBER 31, 2030 AD)

PERSPECTIVE

As the post-conflict Republic of Liberia — established through American philanthropy nearly 200 years ago — continues its costly and painstaking peacetime recovery, it has been predicted concerning this nation of over 5 million people: “Recovery will take decades, even with an upright government” (OPERATION WORLD). Against this backdrop, the BASILEIA DECADE OF DESTINY (2021-2031) is a God-honoring and results-oriented capital campaign for mobilizing God-given resources (time, talent, treasure, technology, testimony, tradition, tenacity, etc.) over the next ten years; in response to what we consider our distinct Divine Mandate to facilitate lasting transformation and sustainability throughout the Republic of Liberia: “You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You’ll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again” (Isaiah 58:12, MSG)

IN THE BIBLE (GOD’S WORD), the number “10” is used 242 times; while the designation “10th” appears 79 times. In either case, “ten” in the Scripture is understood as “a complete and perfect number [that] signifies testimony, law, responsibility and the completeness of order” according to Biblical Research scholars. With this understanding, the BASILEIA DECADE OF DESTINY Capital Campaign (2021-2031) is a 10-year intensive reconciliation, restoration, renewal, reconstruction and sustainable development initiative, with comprehensive national emphasis, that represents radical vision and faith rooted in our conviction that our LORD God “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20, NIV).
