“VALUES – VISION – VOCATON”
AN AMERICAN-LIBERIAN HERITAGE PROTESTANT MISSION SINCE 1982
BASILEIA MISSIONS INC (simply called BASILEIA) was founded in 1982 at Houghton College (Western New York) by Liberian-American Protestant missionaries J. Railey Gompah and Esther G. Gompah who are indigenous to historic Nimba County (north-central Liberia) — the unsung “Birthplace of the Organization of African Unity” (now the African Union). The Mission has since expanded to Liberia (West Africa) where it is incorporated and functioning as BASILEIA MISSIONS (LIBERIA) INC (also simply known as BASILEIA): Greek in origin and meaning “GOD IS SUPREME” (Deuteronomy 10:17, GNT)…ALL POWERFUL over all creation including the human race. In nearly four decades of service To God and humanity, BASILEIA and its leadership have been recognized, commended and recommended by a stellar array of prominent public officials, government agencies, and Christian leaders among many other notables (see below).

GENERAL PUBLIC ENDORSEMENTS
“WE HAVE BEEN PERSONALLY INVOLVED WITH THE GOMPAH FAMILY FOR DECADES; have watched their children grow up into educated Christian professionals; and have been pleased to see the Gompahs demonstrate Christian integrity, honesty, dedication and ability in serving the LORD GOD and others in need. Their tender hearts are full of compassion for the downtrodden and needy, especially their own people of post-conflict Liberia. We are happy to commend to you, your church, organization, enterprise or agency, the Reverend J. Railey Gompah, BASILEIA MISSIONS INC and the entire leadership team for your meaningful support.” — Herschel C. & Ruth “Sammie” Ries (Missionary Mentors and Former American Protestant Missionaries to Liberia, West Africa)
“I know Rev. J. Railey Gompah personally and can highly recommend him and his ministry without any mental reservation, as someone with a warm and spiritual heart and genuineness of call to the ministry. J. Railey is a highly intelligent man and very articulate. He will be a blessing to your congregation or organization.” — Rev. Dr. Kenneth C. Knappen (Chairman, J. Railey Gompah 1991 Ordination Council, Williamsville, New York, USA).
“J. Railey, your wisdom and vast amount of knowledge on so many different subjects have been, and will continue to be, a blessing to all who know you. The professional stance that you exhibited and the in-service type of staff meeting/teaching activities that you initiated at URBAN CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES [Buffalo, New York, USA] certainly made a positive contribution to UCM.” — Rev. Kenneth R. Munson (Former BASILEIA MISSIONS Board Chairman & Member of J. Railey Gompah 1991 Ordination Council, USA)
“I have acted as attorney for Rev. J. Railey Gompah individually and as an officer of BASILEIA MISSIONS INC for the past several years. In this capacity, I have observed him carry out his responsibilities and duties in the area of Christian community development in the Western New York area [with extensions to]his homeland of Liberia, West Africa. Rev. Gompah has shown dedication, ability and unselfish concern for others whom he and his mission are seeking to serve. He has energetically sought to advance the programs and ministries of BASILEIA. I highly commend J. Railey Gompah and BASILEIA MISSIONS INC to any individual, church or organization that shares the concern for quality church advancement and total people development in the United States and the West African nation of Liberia.” — David T. Pullen, Esq. (Allegany County, Western New York, USA)
“J. Railey, it was good meeting you and your family in Williamsville, New York, USA, and I trust the LORD will prosper your efforts. I warm very much to your holistic approach to Christian ministry; it contrasts favorably with the current concept that ‘planting churches’ is the sum total of fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ Jesus.” — Rev. Dr. Peter Letchford (Christian Missionary Statesman, United Kingdom, Europe)
“The Session of KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH in Kenmore, New York, United States of America, is honored to endorse the work of BASILEIA MISSIONS INC including BASIELIA INDUSTRIAL UNIVERSITY and its “feeder” schools for serving the neediest of Liberian children, youth, young adults, as well as the most marginalized girls and women throughout this post-conflict nation. KNOX CHURCH also enthusiastically endorses Rev. J. Railey Gompah’s extensive faith-based human services without any mental reservation; and does support his request for your consideration.” — Rev. Matthew Haberman (Senior Pastor & Moderator, Knox Presbyterian Church, Kenmore, NY, USA)
“With so much help from indigenous missionaries in the Developing World, we may feel that we in the West can now relax and let them carry the burden for World Evangelism. The truth is that because the task is so great, we MUST work together to see it accomplished. We need each other to finish the job …to work shoulder to shoulder. BASILEIA MISSIONS INC (USA) and its developing BASILEIA INDUSTRIAL UNIVERSITY are worthy of our support from the West.” — Rev. Joseph “Will” Longenecker (Missionary Statesman & former WEC-USA Director)
“You and I have been blessed with wealth and security relative to many of our Christian brothers and sisters around the world. Perhaps you are challenged by the idea that YOUR LIFE could be one of ETERNAL SIGNIFICANCE rather than just another “success story” [soon left and forgotten in the trash bin of history]. If so, you will want to give careful consideration to an UNUSUAL OPPORTUNITY for ministry alongside J. Railey Gompah and BASILEIA MISSIONS INC — an arm of encouragement, empowerment and transformation to post-conflict Liberia, the West African sub-region, and the African continent.” — R. Gordon Mooney (Former First Board Chairman, BASILEIA MISSIONS INC, USA)
